Title: In Loving Memory . . .
Description: Remembrance Week

Inspirational - October 1, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
There's a good reason why the Forums have changed to pink for this Week or two, Pink has been one of my most cherished and favorite colors since an incident that happened nearly a year ago . . . I felt the need to do this not just for me but for anyone else who has lost a loved one . . . I've been waiting all year holding back posting this but it's time now . . .

Rebecca Lee Winslow Jan 2, 1990 - Oct. 5th, 2007

Rebecca Lee Winslow was my friend, We went to the same school and Church and I saw her week in and out all the time while I was living in Ohio for 3 years. My sister used to hang out with her from time to time as well. She wasn't my best friend or even a very close one, but i knew her and so did everyone else in our small school of about 400+ Highschool students.

On Oct 5th, 2007 around 8:00pm Becca was driving home at night with a friend, around a curve there was a deer, Becca missed the deer but the car swerved off the road and flipped in the air several times hitting a tree . . .Becca was killed instantly, her friend was in the hospital for many weeks after. There were so many people at Becca's Funeral that the line went outside the Church, she had such an impact on so many people including myself . . . She was only 17 years old . . .

Her favorite Color was (can you guess?) Pink, it has been the part of her that I will always remember and never forget, not a day has gone by that i don't think about Becca. Sure there have been many more tragic things happen in this world, sure Becca is just one little girl and sure People could say "get over it" but it's not like that, we've all lost someone I bet and seeing this person just disappear from this Earth to never be seen again is more of a shock than it seems.

So for you all, on Oct 5th of this year, this upcoming Sunday, just take some time to remember someone you lost and the impact they had on your life. Life is precious whether you think so or not . . .don't waste it.

My condolences to you and to all who knew her. I know God has a special place just for her. Thank you for this message of remembering those we love.

Thanks, I don't know how her family is doing but I bet this will be a hard week for them, I pray they will remember all the good times and who she was.

Yeah it's sad but had to be done, this is kinda my way of still saying goodbye by honoring her favorite color, even my xbox 360 controller is pink and so is my halo 3 character.

It's Pink week for me. . . .
