I have an idea for a car, but I need a base, that has stars on it, and I'm not too sure how to make them, like Real's Walle car he made a while back, in 08 I beleive. I'm not sure how make stars in Photoshop CS3.

Also, I'd like to learn how to make this purple looking space on this picture below.

Last but not least, I need to learn how to make a lightning texture, anyone willing to teach me?

There's a thread over at THL that talks about how to do the lightning effects. I'll see if I can find it for you tomorrow, if Josh doesn't help you out before then.

this car was posted on TSD as well.

I used an effects in After Effects to simulate realistic stars. I guess to do this in photoshop you'd have to pint them or something.

Ok, got the stars thing done, wasn't too hard, just had to mess with it a little bit, next problem.

Erasing background from an image

Any tips on how to make this easier? I tried the background eraser tool but I want to keep the blue lighting, and it kept erasing his head because its harder to see.

A few ways to d this, all take some skill / knowledge of how to remove backgrounds though.

In photoshop you can either use the color select tool or masking tools, or if you have after effects you can color key or mask out.

The pen tool is in both programs, you have to simply cut around the characters and use feather to remove them. I've done this process a lot for many objects I need to cut away from the background. The other options is color select or color key. Both might be tricky since the color you are trying to remove is black and the character has black on him.

Well, I have no clue how to use AE, so which would be the easiest way to attempt to do this in PS.
